Tarak Ridge is located at Mariveles, Bataan. It provides a lovely view of Manila Bay, Corregidor Island, and a few locations in Manila and Cavite. Tarak Peak rises 1,130 meters above sea level, while Tarak Ridge is located at 1,006 meters.
Tarak Ridge is also known as Mt. Tarak is a popular hiking destination among seasoned hikers and mountaineers because of its challenging trail composed of craggy surface, rugged terrain, steep ridge, and forested trail.

Registration
The first thing you need to do to hike the Tarak Ridge is to register at Brgy. Alas-Asin Mariveles, Bataan But the good thing is, if you have your guide which is required, they can be the ones assisting you to register, so you can focus on preparing the things you need for the hike.
After registration, you may start hiking with your guide and friends. The initial part of the trail is an easy 25-minute walk on a well-established trail.
Papaya River
After 4 to 5 hours of hiking, you’ll reach the Papaya River. In fact, the water in the Papaya River is safe to drink, so you can refill your drinking bottle. You can also enjoy the scenery at Papaya River. It’s clean and cool for your vlogs, photography, and memory posting. But a reminder to every mountaineer and hiker is to make sure that the Papaya River is clean because local citizens still use water from it.
